Kim and Joe Mohrhauser are known to generations of shoppers at the Fluegel’s Farm, Garden & Pet stores they co-own in Hastings and Rosemount. Kim’s family has owned the main store for 92 years, serving the many needs of farmers large and small for feeds, forages, bedding, pasture management & garden. As Dakota County became more urban the stores evolved to appeal to residential homeowners as well. At their own farm along the Vermillion River they own Llamas, Suri Alpacas, and numerous breeds of sheep – Rambouillet, Columbia, Dorset, and Suffolk.
This year they travel to #8 on the map to display their year’s harvest of professionally milled alpaca/llama blend yarns and hand-woven rugs. They were large contributors to the North Star Farm Tour Sock Project, and will have a wide inventory on hand for sale. Kim is the buyer for gifts, garden and home décor objects and will bring a curated collection for in-store display on tour weekend.
