That’s what we learned at the “Agritourism: Fun on the Farm Workshop” hosted by the MN Dept of Health (MDH), MN Dept of Agriculture (MDA), and Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety & Health Center (UMASH) at the University of Minnesota in May 2019. Hand washing with soap is the best way to stop germs…hands down! Honestly, it changed our priorities for this year.
Visitor Safety & Health is Our #1 Priority
North Star Farm Tour (NSFT) paid attention to the state experts in that workshop, and realized we had work to do before Tour 2019:
Every member got laminated hand washing posters, safety brochures and a workbook from the “Agritourism Fun on the Farm” workshop.
Please note the beautiful, functional hand washing stations at each farm. After petting a few of the farms animals, please check out how easy they are to use as you wash your hands.
Take a moment to scan the QR code located prominently on the posters on the hand washing stations. See the many translated languages in NSFT’s effort to “reach and teach” as many people as possible.
Notice the colorful welcome banners in many languages at each site that encourage a Safe, Fun Visit.
Check out each farms framed certificate of completion of trainings to comply with State regulations.
And, last but not least, HAVE A SAFE, FUN VISIT!!
Our colorful North Star Farm Tour handwashing stations are impossible to miss. We’re thankful to our sponsors Menard’s-Red Wing, Hirshfields-Apple Valley, Runnings-Red Wing, and Culligan Red Wing & Culligan UltraPure of Northfield for inspiring the color scheme that conveniently matches the State of Minnesota’s logos: MDH MDA MN Grown UMASH
Download a free App to your phone that scans QR codes. Aim your phone at the square and wait. It will automatically take you to our page absolutely free. Now you can choose your preferred language and download to your phone.
Stay tuned this week for these languages:
We hope to see you on our next tour!
